Do I have to be a student to borrow or check out books?
Answer
In order to borrow circulating materials, borrowers must present a library card. FSU students, faculty, and staff use their University I.D. cards as library cards at the Research Center as well as at other FSU libraries. Other borrowers, including students at FAMU and TCC, should use a special library card. To obtain one of these cards, borrowers should complete a Borrower's Registration Form at the Circulation Desk. Law firms may make special arrangements for cards issued to the firm; consult the Circulation Supervisor for details.
Before coming to the FSU College of Law Research Center, it is recommended that the public check the Web site of the Clerk of Court for Leon County. The site provides forms, answers to frequently asked questions, a legal glossary, and much more.
The public may use the Research Center Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. During other hours when the Research Center Circulation Desk is open, only FSU, FAMU, and TCC students, faculty and staff; attorneys; and Florida State Law alumni will be admitted, including Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and weekends 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
